Housing-informations

The housing allows access to all functions of the Canon EOS 1D Mark IV. Start/Stop of the video function can be used with your hand on the right handle. The ergonomics of the housing are again unbeatable. The SUBAL CD4 is the only housing on the market where the access to the video function is especially optimized. The housing can be used for the Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EOS 1Ds Mark II also.
The camera is mounted on a saddle for precise positioning inside the housing so that wrong positioning is impossible. A 4 mm main- O-ring and the SUBAL QuickLock system makes it virtually impossible to close the lid if the O-ring is not lying correctly in its groove. Maximum security is assured.
Generous shading of the LCD-monitor provides a dazzle-free view to the brilliant image of the camera monitor which is ideal when using the HD-video function of this camera.
Threaded holes in the base of the housing allow the mounting of trays etc. On the top of the housing there is a mounting plate with threaded hole for mounting a light-weight aiming light. The housing incorporates an excellent viewfinder optic for full frame viewing.
Optionally the housing can be assembled with the magnifying Viewfinder Optic GS 180 as well as with the also magnifying, 360° revolvable, Viewfinder OpticWS45.
As with all our products choice of materials, machining, surface protection and finish conform with SUBAL’s well known standards of reliability and workmanship.

All SUBAL ports with bayonet mount can be used with this housing.

Seawater resistant aluminium alloy, machined from a solid block, extreme surface hardened and corrosion resistant through Hard Coating. All parts manufactured from anodized and hard coated aluminium, acid proof stainless steel or high quality plastics. Seals are seamless precision O-rings. O-rings in hard coated glands. SUBAL QuickLock latching system.
